After 43 years of dedicated service to the community, Beth Sholom Village has embarked on a transformative journey to craft a new strategic vision. This strategic shift is driven by a commitment to better meet the evolving needs of the senior and Jewish communities, and to ensure a brighter future for generations to come.
Developing a new strategic vision for Beth Sholom Village is a critical step in ensuring the organization’s growth and continued success, and a necessary process “to honor the commitment made to our community, our parents, grandparents, and those who we will care for in the future,” says David Abraham, Beth Sholom Village president and CEO
By following these points as guidelines, BSV can continue to grow, adapt, and build programs to meet the needs of seniors now and in the future. These points and guidelines will serve as a roadmap for leadership to make informed decisions and prioritize actions that align with BSV’s strategic vision.
Beth Sholom Village has always delivered exceptional care and maintained a well-deserved reputation for integrity, compassion, and upholding Jewish values. “We will continue to do that, but we are doing it differently,” says Jay Kossman, incoming BSV chair of the board. “We will be delivering more care to more people for more years, and we are ready for the next step in our organizational journey. As we shift our focus and strategic vision, we also must reshape our call to action; we are learning from those who supported us in the past, donors who continue to give, and will continue to seek guidance from those who fund long-term initiatives supporting seniors into the future.”
Change is often met with both excitement and trepidation, but in the case of Beth Sholom Village’s new strategic vision, the community can rest assured that these changes are driven by a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of its seniors. By adapting to evolving demographics, continuing to prioritize the highest quality of care, fostering a sense of belonging, embracing interdisciplinary approaches, ensuring financial sustainability, building new partnerships and continuing to engage with the community, Beth Sholom Village is poised to create a brighter future for the entire Hampton Roads senior community.
Beth Sholom Village is currently embarking on a comprehensive rebranding initiative and website overhaul, following the meticulous rewriting of its strategic vision. The rebranding effort aims to modernize Beth Sholom Village’s image, ensuring it resonates with diverse stakeholders, from supporters to the seniors it serves and their families. The redesigned website will serve as a dynamic platform, not only reflecting the updated strategic vision but also providing a user-friendly interface for easy access to information, resources, and support services. This initiative underscores Beth Sholom Village’s commitment to adaptability, innovation, and the continuous enhancement of its impact on the well-being of seniors.
BSV anticipates unveiling the new look and website during its Annual Meeting and board installation on January 9, 2024. An invitation will be extended to the community to join in the celebration (more details to follow), says Abraham.
As these changes take shape, the community will ultimately benefit from a more responsive, innovative, and inclusive approach to senior care, ensuring that the legacy of compassionate service endures for future generations.
“The hard work of previous generations set the standard, and we continue that work – we continue to serve members of our community who need help and we continue to provide housing and healthcare for seniors,” says Abraham. “We are the Beth Sholom Village of tomorrow, and we are doing it differently.”
