Anne Elizabeth Leitman

Virginia Beach – Anne Elizabeth (Heyward) Leitman, aged 94, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026.

Born on August 24, 1932, in New York, New York, Anne lived a life marked by kindness, creativity, and dedication to her family.

In her earlier years, Anne was known for her love of painting and reading, pursuits that reflected her thoughtful and artistic nature. She also cherished working out regularly at Planet Fitness until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Anne’s warmth and compassion shone brightly in her love for children. Professionally, she contributed her talents as an assistant at a salon spa, where her gentle spirit was appreciated by many.

Anne was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edward and Anne (Meyers) Heywood; her son, Steven Coyne; and her daughter, Eileen Homsher. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joel M. Leitman; her daughter, Susan Coyne; and her sons, Chuck Coyne, Edward Coyne, Daniel Coyne, Tom Coyne, and Tim Coyne. She is also remembered fondly by other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
