Virginia Beach – It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Ari Jaron Simon on October 23, 2026, at the age of 16.
Ari was a beautiful soul with a kind heart, a deep spirit, and a genuine love for those around him. He cared deeply about his family and friends, and the relationships he built meant the world to him. Ari had a special way of connecting with others, and his presence touched the lives of so many.
Ari loved spending time with his friends and family, playing video games and pickleball, and exploring his creativity through photography. He was proud of his Jewish heritage and found great joy and belonging through his involvement in BBYO, where he was a leader and especially loved attending conventions and spending time with friends.
Above all, Ari will be remembered for his loving heart, his sensitive soul, and the meaningful connections he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. Though his life was far too short, the love and hugs he gave and the memories he created will remain with us forever.
Ari will be deeply loved, missed, and mourned by his devoted parents, Carin and Mike Simon; his brother, Nate Simon; his grandparents, Joan and Eric Joffe and Nancy and Sandy Simon; his beloved dog, Rocky; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
A funeral service was held at Princess Anne Memorial Park in Virginia Beach.
The family requests that donations be made in Ari’s memory to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), BBYO, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Condolences may be left online for the family at www.AltmeyerFH.com. Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel is honored to serve the Simon Family during this difficult time.
May Ari’s memory forever be a blessing.
