Norfolk —Alan J. Mand, 77, passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, 2014.
He was a Norfolk native, Maury High School graduate, lifelong member of Congregation Beth El and its Men’s Club. He was a member of Brith Sholom and Masonic Lodge Norfolk #1.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Annette Mand and his children Aileen Schaked (Edgar) of Orlando, Fla. and Lori Machesky (Joe) of Marietta, Ga. and three grandchildren Noah, Max and Sophie. He was pre-deceased by his parents Lillie and Louis Mand.
A funeral service was held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, followed by burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Donations may be made to Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia, Beth El Temple, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made to the family through hdoliver.com.
