Virginia Beach – David Robert Blevins died December 27, 2025, at age 84.
Born May 26, 1941, in Knoxville, Tenn. to Hansel and Marian Blevins, David lived most of his adult life in Montgomery, Ala. and Virginia Beach.
David earned his doctorate from the University of Virginia and taught at the high school and college levels and at his local recreation center. A long-time former smoker, David had been afflicted by several smoking-related diseases and became a leader in the International Association of Laryngectomees and his local Lost Chords Club.
David is survived by his daughter Martha Thomas (Matt), grandchildren Karison and Marybeth, sister Nancy Cook, nieces, and nephew. He was predeceased by his daughter Elaine Lesgold and sister Margaret Kraus.
