Jewish News seeks a copywriter/editorial assistant. The paper is looking for a passionate storyteller who can craft clear and compelling copy for the newspaper. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write clear and persuasive copy with an emphasis on writing articles

• Collaborate with the editorial and graphics team

• Proof, edit, and research as needed

• Understand Jewish culture, history, issues, and traditions

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Journalism, English, or Communications

• Stellar writing, editing, and proofreading skills 

• Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills 

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively 

• Detail-oriented self-starter with a high degree of creative initiative 

• Appreciation for mission of Jewish News

• Grasp of current events, particularly as they affect American Jewry, the Jewish people, and Israel 

Qualified candidates must provide writing samples or access to a portfolio of work.
